A bollard is a short, vertical post designed to guide traffic, protect people and property, and create physical boundaries. Bollards show up everywhere—outside storefronts, around loading docks, at warehouse corners, near fuel pumps, and along walkways—because they’re a simple, durable way to control where vehicles can and can’t go.
A pipe bollard is one of the most common types. As the name suggests, it’s typically made from steel pipe, installed into the ground or onto a slab, and finished with a high-visibility coating (often safety yellow).
